2025 William Rigby Invitation Rules

Normal Xoso rules will be in affect unless otherwise contradicted by the rules below:
  1. Captains or someone designated by the captain will ref games they are not playing. If you are the captain of a team please arrive 30 minutes early for a quick captain/ref meeting. I’d like two captains to ref the finals, if possible.

  2. Finals will be determined by win/loss, then run differential, then heads up.

  3. Play hard, play to win, but do not be rude or combative. If you argue with the refs calls beyond simply expressing you disagree, you will be removed from the tournament. If you feel a call is incorrect, please approach the ref calmly and state what you think should have been called. The ref will ultimately make the decision, even if this makes you unhappy. These are your peers. Do not be an asshole.

  4. Mandatory slow pitch in both tournaments. The purpose of a pitch in these tournaments is to generate a kick. Any pitch thrown in an attempt to disrupt a kicker (too fast, spin, too much bounce) will result in a ball. Three balls is a walk. Any good pitch thrown near (within 12 inches on either side) the plate not kicked is a strike. Fouls are strikes. Two strikes and you are out. This means you can strike out on a foul ball.

  5. Do not intentionally drop fly balls for double plays. If the ref suspects this occurs, the correct call is that the kicker is out, and the runners stay where they are.

  6. 25 foot buntline.

  7. As we may not have 4 women for each team, we will be overruling both the composition of fielding rules (meaning just play all players up to 10 on the field) and the alternating kicking order. Just assign your team an order and kick in that order every time.

  8. Subs can be found if players cannot make the tournament. I don’t particularly care who they are or if they have played before, just make sure they bring the right attitude and are excited to play.

  9. BE FRIENDLY! MAKE FRIENDS! HAVE FUN!!!
